After School Cookout

Who: All FFA members and incoming 9th graders

Where: ACCTC Ag Shop

What: Anderson County FFA members will present leadership activities as well as opportunities available to members during a hot dog cookout!! Come see what FFA is about!!

Cost: FREE!!

AC FFA travels to Memphis!!

Who: Students who have paid their dues, attended two meetings, and have at least a C average in all courses

When: March 29-April 1

Where: Students will tour an animal research facility, the ag center at Memphis, Bass Pro Pyramid, and Agribition in Murfreesboro

Cost: $100 (pays for 2 nights at the hotel, and 2 meals)

Hunter Education

Hunter Education in the Classroom
Who: Students in Mrs. Massengill's Natural Resource Management

When: Feb-March, Range date March 19

What: Students are working through the Hunter Education Curriculum during class. They will take the test and participate in the range day. Upon completion, they will earn their Hunter Education Permit.

Why: Conservation practices are essential for the future of our environment and wildlife to be preserved for our future generations. Students will learn the importance of their role in the future, along with the importance of safety and lawful harvesting in the field.

Trout in the Classroom

Trout in the Classroom Project

What: We were given trout eggs by the Buffalo Springs Hatchery, which we hatched in the classroom and will raise until May when we will release them!!

When: May 14, 2020 we will release our fish at the Gristmill at Norris Dam

Who: Students in Mrs. Massengill's Greenhouse Management II and Natural Resources Management
